Baby Wearing Dance

Bond like a Boss!

Mumma’s Got Moves is a babywearing dance course designed for mums, dads and caregivers who want to move, connect and enjoy music together with their babies.

Run in 4-week blocks, these sessions are all about letting your wiggle loose, strengthening the bond with your baby, and carving out time to do something that brings you joy. Through gentle, guided movement and seriously fresh tunes, you and your little one can relax, connect and move as one.

No dance experience is needed at all. Movements are low-impact, relaxed and accessible, Simply strap your baby on and follow my lead.

Safety is always at the heart of these sessions. I am a certified Baby Wearing Peer Supporter, and each class begins with a carrier check to ensure babies are well-supported and caregivers are wearing their carriers comfortably. To avoid overheating, one layer of clothing is recommended for babies, and the same applies to baby wearers.

What to Expect

After initial greetings and a quick check that you and baby are comfortable and ready to go we will start the class with a gentle warm up. Class will combine learning a short fun and easy choreo together and  freestyle movement moments. We will finish with some circle time to decompress and relax.

About Me

Hi I'm Monica,

founder of Mumma’s Got Moves.

I have a background in Learning and Development (BA Hons) with years of experience working in Early Years, SEND, as a Learning  Mentor in Primary Schools, always with attachment theory at the heart of my work.

Creating spaces that support connection, regulation and confidence in early parenthood is something I care deeply about. Connection and community is important to us at all stages and areas of life.

Dance has always been part of my life — from attending Modern Jazz classes as a child, to exploring Hip Hop, Afrobeat, Dancehall, Salsa, and more in my adulthood. I have also run my own Zumba Fitness business since 2016 and classes are a reflection of this. All genres, big beats, community and lashings of Good Vibes!

After becoming a parent in 2015, I didn’t want to give dancing up. I dreamt of a way to dance with my baby, learn choreography, and feel part of something again. When that kind of space was hard to find, Mumma’s Got Moves grew from that need.

Mumma’s Got Moves is about more than bonding with your baby — it’s about moving together, learning a routine as a group, and building real connection with other caregivers along the way.

It’s inclusive, supportive and full of good energy.

I’m really proud to bring Brighton’s inclusive babywearing dance course to life, and I’d love to share this space with you!

Safety First

Be in the know!

What is the minimum age recommended for my baby to attend?

Your infant must be over 6 weeks old as by this stage of their development their bodies should be strong enough to be comfy and safe in a carrier for the duration of the class. You should have also had your 6 week postnatal check by then. If you have had a c-section please wait at least 12 weeks and you will need the ok from your health care professional.

What should we wear?

One layer is strongly requested for babies during class to avoid overheating, the same rule applies for babywearers. Please wear comfortable clothes, what you'd wear to the gym, and trainers.

What kind of babycarrier/ sling should I use?

Everyone will have a carrier that is best for them and their baby, one size does not fit all, there are so many carriers on the market! The one request is that your baby must be facing inwards/tummy to tummy for the class. Baby's who are younger than 4-6 months should only be carried inward facing to protect their developing spine and joints. The other reason for this is that if your baby falls asleep during class and they are outward facing their heads are not supported and their chins may drop to their necks, blocking their airway.
