Dancing for a Cause - Zumbathon for Survivors Network!

Wow… where do I even begin with this one?
Back in March, you came together as a community for something really special - a Zumbathon fundraiser for Survivors Network - and honestly, it was everything I hoped it would be and more!
From the moment the music started, the room was just buzzing. We had people of all ages and abilities coming together, moving, laughing, sweating (a lot!) and just fully embracing that Zumba energy we all love.

On The Night...
We danced. A LOT.
We had back-to-back routines, loads of energy, and that incredible feeling you only get when a room full of people are all moving together. As is always the case with Zumba, our laughter continued even when our legs started to feel it!
If that wasn't enough, you rallied together to provide an amazing bake sale (which lets face it is the perfect accompaniment to any dance routine) which meant donations continued to come in throughout the event.
There was just this overwhelming feeling of people wanting to give, support and be part of something greater. It genuinely felt like a community coming together - not just for fitness, but for connection and for a cause.

Why This Mattered
This Zumbathon was all about supporting Survivors Network - a charity doing such important work supporting survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
Creating spaces like this matters. Not just to raise funds, but to raise awareness, to show solidarity, and to remind people that they are not alone.
Zumba has always been about more than just dancing for me. It’s about creating safe, uplifting spaces where people can show up exactly as they are. And this event really embodied that.

The Result
Thanks to every single person who came along, donated, baked, danced, or supported in any way!
We absolutely smashed it, raising over £550 for Survivors Network!
On top of that awesome result, the atmosphere, the feedback, the energy in the room was just so special. We all left feeling uplifted, connected, and proud to have been part of it, and ultimately, that’s what it’s all about.

A Little Personal Note
This event happened not long before I was honoured with a Brighton Girl Award, and I think it now makes this moment feel even more meaningful.
It reminded me why I do what I do – building community, creating joyful spaces, and using movement as a way to bring people together and make a difference.
This Zumbathon is testament to the amazing things we can do when we come together.
Thank You
To everyone who:
Showed up and danced their heart out
Baked cakes (honestly… wow)
Donated and supported
Helped behind the scenes
Thank you. So much.
We turned a fun dance class into something so powerful - and that’s down to all of you.
So excited to see what we do next!
Mon x
